Homa Abdollahi, explores the theme of “place” in her works on aluminum sheets. The connection between individuals and their places of residence, as well as the sustainable and continuous relationship between humans and their environment, has always fascinated her. The constant human interaction with materials, the process of building, and the presence of abandoned spaces, temporary ceilings, structures, and half-finished buildings nourish her interest in this subject. These elements have shaped the main axis of her work. while human figures are absent in her works, the presence of humans in relation to place is evident. The technique of mixed media on aluminum sheets aids in conveying her conceptual space regarding her subject matter.
In continuation to her previous collection (Transient, 2019), where the ceiling was used as a structure, in the last collection (Coating, 2022) she has focused on the constant human interaction with materials.
